excitement comes before the bum

So when I got to rehearsal last night I was told that I was being switched to the sisterhood because the brothers had more high voices (maybe because 1/2 of them are girls??) and I was…and I quote…a “girly girl”. What the heck? They obviously didn’t see the last play I was in when my mother thought I was supposed to be a man (but I wasn’t).

Gonna be honest, I’m pretty bummed. I like the brothers’ music waay better. Also-he’s having me sing 1st Soprano. Not a good plan. Because eventually we are going to get to a song where I won’t be able to hit the notes.

On the flip side, I figure I should be happy I get anything since I couldn’t make auditions. And I am…I was just really excited to be a brother. Oh well, them’s the breaks.

Tomorrow is the fourth, hurray. I am hoping for barbeque and expecting some amazing explosions.

School tuition went up again. Mom blew up and screamed that it just “wasn’t right” and that I couldn’t go to school anymore. It amazes me at the things she can attach a moral compass to.

So anyways the Uncle who has the information I need to join the Indian tribe (and hopefully get money and a laptop) is being a particularly selfish nuisance. He refuses to email the information because he will “be visiting soon”ish. I don’t think he realizes I go back to school in a couple of weeks and this information could make a huge difference to my continuing education. He’s kind of a control freak and everything has to be done his own way. Kind of a family trait with most of my maternal Uncles and Aunts.

Well I guess that;s about it, I’m going to go scrounge up some breakfast. (I’ve always loved that word. It’s so poetic. Breaking the fast. It’s like a huge relief, after days (hours) of starvation. Almost a ritual. AND the most important meal of the day. THEY say so :) . )

Hoping your day is going splendidly, and you get to view some amazing pyrotechnics tomorrow,

Sincerely,

Emilie
