Brave and valiant,
Gleaming maroon in the evening sky
Fighting on for dear, dear life
Never again to traverse the dusty road
Highway 101
You were strong and you were true
You never shirked a duty
Carrying loads of theatre students
Friends
Hungry for a bite
Excited to get to rehearsal
You have gone where many before you have failed
You have traveled long and far
Across the snowy mountains,
Under dripping overpasses
Across many states, to the center of the country
Your life has been marked by many struggles
Pain has been inflicted
You made it through a speeding collision
You got a bump, but you gave much worse back
You totaled that motorcycle,
Like the bad ass vehicle you are
Mom broke your lock, and your door
But you still opened from the other side
Gas mileage—you got plenty
Another ding you were given,
Also by another one of my sister’s collisions
This time with a pole
Once again, you weathered on through
You were an amazing car
Luxury seats, automatic windows
Air conditioning and a heater
You had eleven beautiful years of life
And you served faithfully under six masters
You are honored
Your last year of life was a vicissitude
You were sick often, but when you went
You really went
You made it through hundreds of rainstorms
And even though your driver couldn’t see because your wipers were so slow
You still drove straight and true
Ish
You were even so honorable you would
swerve to avoid even the tiniest squirrel
You were impossible to parallel park
You leaned to the right
But this just gave you character
You went by many names
Some pleasant, some not
Once you were a family car
Then you were The TANK
When you passed onto your final master
you gained another name
It is with a lot of love, and pain
That we see you go to your end at last
You made it for a year without being pulled over
With a burnt out tail light
You made it through ice and snow,
You made it through an antifreeze leak
You overheated on the highway,
You almost killed us dead
But most of all you filled my dreams
And drove like you had a trunk full of lead
This eulogy is rather lengthy,
For memories with you were long
And many
And it is with great regret
That your transmission was not as strong as your soul
So, my dear dear dear
Behemoth
It is time to let you go
Sincerely, With utmost sadness,
Your Driver,
Emilie
He-he Cute poor Emilie.
(In the beginning, I thought someone died on 101. “Oh, no! Emily lost someone!” And I got sad for you(and this someones family) but it was a CAR!!
